I had worked on this piece previously with these particular dancers, Sage and Nina over a year ago.  They danced with me in my Elixir of Youth Dance Company.  I really enjoy working with them because they are very “in” their bodies for being just 13 years old.  They always give a nuanced performance and seeing them grow as dancers is really neat.  I’m a little disappointed with how this video shoot came out, but only due to my own crappy videography.  I cannot figure out how I manage to lose Sage’s head half the time.  Argh! Very disappointing, but I will pretend it is supposed to be artsy.  hmmm. It’s just not, is it? Their dancing was great if out of practice for this particular piece.  I wish I had used a tripod.  But hopefully they will forgive me and I will try better (hello! tripod!) for them on the next project we do together.
